The Lip Evolution

Who isn’t talking about bigger, fuller and luscious lips? 2016 is the year of the Lip Evolution! With celebrities like Kylie Jenner owning this look, this trend is going no-where and now with thanks to NYX Cosmetics you can achieve the perfect pout.  The key to achieve a sexy fuller lip this upcoming Party and Christmas Season is by over lining the lip. Here are a few of our top tips and products you need in your make up bag this year:
Gently exfoliate your lips to remove all dead skin, this is important if you plan on wearing a matte lip or liner
Start off with a nude liner like the NYX Cosmetics Slim Lip Pencil in Natural, €4.99, carefully start at the corners of your lips by drawing triangles to create the desired shape
Next begin to create a new outline just slightly outside the top and bottom lip. Repeat if you want to create a more dramatic defined look. It is important to choose a liner that will match the desired shade of NYX Cosmetics Buttergloss, €6.49 or NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick, €7.49 so that you avoid very harsh unblended lines.
The curve of the upper lip can be tricky for everyone, we suggest starting half way on the lip where you want the bow to begin and then connect from left to right.
The final step to creating HD lips is to divide your lip (top and bottom) with three vertical lines from left to right. Don’t worry if the lines look harsh as these will be blended and covered with your lipstick or gloss. Then colour your lips with your favourite lipstick or gloss pigment. Voila – simple and sexy!
Top Tip! Outline the lips with concealer to define them even more and highlight your lips!

I received two lovely shades of Nyx Matte Lipsticks. Maison a lovely chocolate brown and Angel a cardinal red colour. Both are fab shades. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and shockingly smooth for a matte lipstick. They glide on the lips and stay in place with a silky matte finish which never feels dry. Maison is a chocolate shade that has a  grey undertone to it. It seems dark on the swatch on my arm above but on the lips below it is much more wearable. It is a fabulous colour for this time of the year as the dark evenings fall in. Angel is an amazing coral/orange red toned lipstick. It is more of a summer colour than winter but it does definetly bright up a winters evening.

What do you think? Don't they look fab? Nyx is available from selected pharmacies. In Waterford it's available from Sam McCauleys or Shaws. Online its available from Tullys.
