by - 00:01

Well hello there and welcome to the newest feature on the blog. Every monday I will be bringing you a different make up artist and there favourite products. First up is the gorgeous Laura Dempsey. Laura is a Waterford Based Mua so where better to start than at home with a fellow Deise lady. 😍

I'm a Waterford based MUA and have been fully qualified and working in the industry for 3 years, Makeup has always been my passion so after my LC I went to Dublin to Study Theatrical and Media Makeup! After I qualified I began working for Benefit Cosmetics and then Urban Decay Cosmetics! After a year and a half of counter work I decided to venture out on my own and started working for myself! I'm based in Tramore in Co.Waterford but also travel around Ireland to hold Masterclasses.

1. Where are you based and what cities are you available to for work in?
I'm based in Tramore in Co.Waterford but can travel to most counties in Ireland!

2. What would be the best long wear products you would recommend?
I think the Urban Decay All-Nighter foundation is really great for longwear, it's my go-to foundation for nights out! In terms of lip products I also love UD's lipsticks, their comfort matte lipsticks are really good for lasting all day

3. Best beauty tip to follow?
I think regularly washing your brushes is such an important tip, it sounds so simple but people are so guilty of using dirty brushes to apply their makeup which is not only bad for your skin but makes your makeup look dirty!

4. Who inspires you?
There's so many people, I love Jamie Genevieve for grungey looks, Emily Casanova for creative looks and Nikki_makeup for editorial looks

5. Favourite budget makeup brand?
I think Wet n' Wild is my fav budget beauty brand, their products are amazing!

6. Favourite high end makeup brand?
That's a tough one... Probably Makeup Forever or Mac!

7. Favourite concealer?
I love LA Girl's pro concealer (it's an amazing dupe for pro Longwear by Mac) or else Bare Minerals bare skin concealer!

8. Favourite foundation for oily skin?
Either UD's all-nighter or Estee Lauder DoubleWear

9, Favourite foundation for dry skin?
YSL Touche Eclat foundation or else Note Detox&Protect foundation (which is actually a new favourite of mine even though I have oily skin)

10. Powder or Cream contour?
Defo powder contour! But I would possibly do both for special occasion

11. Favourite eyeshadow brand?
I would have to say Makeup Geek or ABH, they practically blend themselves!

12. Makeup product you cannot live without?
Cailyn's Brow Gel in Shade Cocoa

13. What order do you apply makeup?
Eyes, face then brows and obviously lips last.

14. Favourite area of makeup?
I think eyes, because you can be so creative with them!

15. Favourite primer?
Definitely Mac's Strobe Cream, it's so hydrating and illuminating!

16. Favourite lashes?
Aurora by Glam&Co, they're really big which I like but also have a thin lash band!

17. Any tips for a new mua who is trying to get their name out there?
I think social media plays a big part, but also making sure you give each client your best work! Your clients are literally a walking advertisement for your business!

18. Favourite place to buy makeup?
Castle Pharmacy Waterford, they stock so many amazing brands plus the staff are such lovely people!

19. Is there any holy grail products you recommend?
The Cailyn Brow Gel... definitely my favourite product ever! Plus strobe cream by Mac, Benefit Hoola Bronzer and MAC Fix+

20. Favourite makeup look to do?
A warm smokey eye look with some glitter, big lashes, buckets of highlighter and nude lips.
