Neostrata Bionic Face Cream

Neostrata is a new brand to me, but I was fortunate enough to receive some samples from the lovely Eleanor, the local Neostrata Rep in Gallagher's Chemist Waterford. There range is really good quality and stands out in reputation alone but we don't see enough of there products while out shopping. Neostrata is a fantastic skin care range hailing from the States developed by leading dermatologists. NeoStrata products improve the visible signs of ageing or sun-damaged skin and treat various dermatological conditions including acne, dry skin and hyperpigmentation. NeoStrata products are formulated with AHAs (alpha hydroxyl acids), PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) and Bionic PHAs (lactobionic acids). They encourage the skin to shed its dead cell surface(exfoliation), resulting in healthier, smoother, clearer, more radiant skin. These products contain various concentrations of AHA and PHA ingredients as well as sunscreens (SPF), lightening or anti-acne agents so that the appropriate therapy can be matched to any skin type or condition. The AHAs and PHAs with antioxidant properties provide help with repairing past damage as well as helping to prevent future skin damage.

AHA Line - Theses products contain Glycolic and citric Acid ( not for sensitive skin)

AHA Plus Line - Theses products contain high amounts of Glycolic Acid (only for people that have been using AHA's before)

PHA Line - Theses products contain Polyhydroxy acid Gluconolactone. (suitable for all skin types, including sensitive)

Bionic Line - Theses products contain Lactobionic Acid (suitable for all skin types, including eczema & rosacea)

Having heard and read previous reviews of this products, I was super excited to start to use it. This product has Lacto Bionic acid as an ingredient. Lacto Bionic acid is an enzyme which is derived from sugarcane. It is a natural exfoliant and it forces the skin to renew and peel. It can also moisturise the skin to provide suppleness. It also has anti ageing properties and will work on existing fine lines and wrinkles. The cream itself resembles petroleum jelly or vaseline as it is more commonly known. The Bionic Cream is a rich thick emollient cream, and is most suitable to use at night time due to its rich properties. This ultra emollient, advanced antiageing cream provides intense hydration and skin smoothing effects without irritation. Studies prove this cream is exceptionally mild, non-irritating and helps calm irritated skin and reduce redness. Ideal to help condition skin after peels, microdermabrasion, laser, or for use with topicals such as retinoids that can dry the skin. I can vouch for it calming irritated skin, as my skin is very red and sensitive at the moment.
Over the past 4 weeks I have been using this Bionic Cream and I have most definitely seen the results. My redness has completely calmed down, the texture and tone of my skin has been renewed. The cream forces the skin to almost perform a peel, this is due to the Lacto Bionic acid having a desquamating and exfoliating effect on the skin. The skin is renewing itself due to the use of this moisturiser. My skin feels like butter after the 4 weeks of use. I will recommend that you stick with the cream, for the first week I experienced dryness but this was the skin renewing itself. If you can overlook the first week when it is repairing the skin it is well worth investing in this cream.

Dry skin gals are just going to love this and you can purchase from all good Pharmacies, (If you cant find it just ask the sales assistant). Locally it is available in Gallaghers Pharmacy where Eleanor will be more than happy to advise you on any products that you need.

Have you ever tried any NeoStrata Products?? What did you think??

  11. can you use aloe vera gel in hair? Aloe Vera gel is not only used for skin but also hair. The aloe Vera gel in the hair makes it strong and shiny. Therefore, it is the best choice for dry and rough hair.
