Sunday Snippet : Fabuliciousfifty

Today's Sunday Snippet features the Fabulous Kerry from Fabuliciousfifty. Kerry's blog
is all about her personal trials and tribulations in life. She didnt fancy turning 50 who
does but has learned to embrace it. Make sure and check out her blogs.

1.     Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Kerry and I am simply someone trying to live the best life that I can.  I am a creative person, with a lust for life.  I have a good few health challenges, but I am determined to live life to the fullest despite these.  I am 50 years old and although it took me a while to come to terms with it – I have decided to embrace it.

2.     How did you get into blogging and why?

I have always loved writing.  This year, my ‘word’ of the year is Create –and blogging is part of that.  I really want to share my story with others who might also have a few mountains that they need to climb.  We all deserve to be fabulous.

I have focussed my blog  on the slightly older beauty market, but it seems that I have readers across all ages – I guess fabulousness doesn’t deal in numbers.

3.     What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?

I have a day job working as a marketing manager in a finance company.  Mostly I work in digital marketing.  I also project manage the website development.

4.     Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?

(Think I have answered this one in 2 and 3)

5.     How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?

It’s a great question.  I get inspired by all sorts of things.  My fabuliciousfifty blog is very personal and so most of the post ideas come from my life.  I do keep a list of ideas on my phone, just so I don’t forget any.  I try to blog twice a week, and maybe one day I might run out of ideas.

Reading other blogs also gives me inspiration.  As does reading magazines, for which I have a little addition to.  My favourite is Psychologies.

6.     Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?

Now this is a hard one.  There are so many that I read, and so many I admire all for different reasons.  EALoves – is run by two talented ladies, one here in Galway and one in America.  I love the mix of things and how fresh it all is.

I love photography so there are quite a few photography blogs I follow – Wild Cosmia by Saibh of ITWBN – is great.

As I have had my own hard times I am always in awe of those bloggers who write from the heart, and share their stories about how they have overcome very hard situations.

And finally – I love beauty blogs (like this one) because I love the idea of every woman being fabulous!  I have learnt so much about make-up from blogs.  It is amazing what a little bit of time and effort can do for your self esteem.

It is great to be in groups like ITWBN – you get to see so many different blogs – almost as good as having a personalised magazine.

7.     Name the top blogs you read?

Wild Cosmia  - inspirational

Techcrunch (because I am a techie at heart)

Finnabair – really arty inspiration

8.     Tell us something we don't know about you?

Well I am a very open book, so I don’t hide much.  I am a South African living in Ireland for the last 12 years.  I honestly believe I can talk to dogs and understand them.  I have two different coloured eyes – one blue and one green.

9.     Link us to all of your social media platforms.
