Today's Sunday Snippet features the lovely Mary from The Fashion Horn, I love seeing Mary's posts pop up on my timeline and love to see what new content Mary has. Mary's blog is all about fashion and I love checking out the latest trends on Mary's blog. We did a little interview as per normal, have a read and make sure to like Mary on all her social media links.
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m an actor-turned-fashion writer and a fully qualified English/drama teacher, basically a Mary-of-all trades. I have a degree in Philosophy as well as English and I love reading, writing, music and performing. I'm a typical Taurus, creative, loyal, stubborn and fiery!
2. How did you get into blogging and why?
I wanted a career change and I had worked in the theatre industry for five years previously
and just finished a postgraduate in education. I have always been obsessed with fashion so I thought I would give writing a go and use all my lovely clothes in a positive way. It was a wayfor me to be creative without having to act which I missed terribly.
3. What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?
I work in Irish Tatler magazine as an editorial assistant and write two regular features each month, The Hot Ten and The Notebook. I also facilitate regular drama workshops with
Ripples, an organisation for children on the autistic spectrum and in an old folks home. I’m also re-drafting my first full length play and I hope to stage it later in the year or early next
year.
4. Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
I’m not a full time blogger. I decided to start my blog after I finished my postgraduate
diploma in education. I wasn’t really sure what to do for the summer. I hadn’t acted in so
long either as I was back to education full time for the first time in ten years and I felt as if I had lost the creative aspect of myself. I needed an outlet where I could express myself and
put my personality out there. I never considered being a writer before but it spurred me ontodo a playwriting course with Fishamble and subsequently apply for my job in Irish Tatler
magazine.
5. How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?
So, I’m obsessed with fashion magazines. I love looking at the fashion editorials and I read
so many blogs. My blog posts are outfit based so the content is driven by the aesthetic. I
honestly never know what I’m going to write about until I see the pictures on my laptop.
Then I look at the trend and usually see the humorous element in it and basically crank up
the self-deprecation to full volume!
6. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Leandra Medine, Esther Levy and Amelia Diamond of Man Repeller because they have
cornered such a niche market. The Man Repeller voice is so unique, nobody elese in the
fashion world is doinganything like that. I also love Thandie Newton and Kay Montano of
Thandie and Kay because they are such champions of women and celebrate all forms of
beauty.I suppose I also admire Chiara Ferragni because she’s a self-made millionaire and
although I am in no way driven by money, I admire an entrepreneurial woman!

stimulating. I like The Blonde Salad, Atlantic Pacific, 5 inch and up for outfit inspiration andThe Sartorialist for aesthetic pleasure, Women’s Wear Daily and Who What Wear to keep upto date for fashion news. Obviously, I read all the magazine blogs aswell and keep up to datewith the websites.

9. Tell us something we don't know about you?
I was in a Lotto ad as the bride who lets her Dad do her makeup on her wedding day, on a
spacehopper in the dark.
