Next up for my Sunday Snippet is another Waterford blogger in the feature of Jodi Roche. I met Jodi a few weeks back at a fabulous Urban Decay event and have been following her since. I love her make up looks and her little tips. Make sure to pop over to all her links below.
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My
name is Jodi Roche. I'm 19 years old and studying Business in WIT. I
also do freelance makeup from home on the weekends. I am a makeup
junkie, I'm just obsessed. I absolutely love doing freelance makeup
because I love peoples reactions when they see themselves after a make
over, it's such a great feeling to make someone happy and just see them
that bit more confident. Some day the dream is to mix my business with
makeup and to own and run my own makeup salon!
2. How did you get into blogging and why?
I
got into blogging because I have a Facebook page where I display work
and take bookings. As the page grew so did the questions. All of my
clients are always asking me about tips and tricks and products.
Facebook isn't really the best platform to give so much information so I
decided to make a blog. My blog is mainly for my clients and followers
but also just for anyone who loves makeup. I try to be as creative as I
can and give all the information but if you read my blog you know I give
so much info, I swear I have the longest posts ever! I've only been
blogging for about 4 months now and I'm really enjoying it, I find it so
relaxing and just delighted when I finally finish a post that I'm happy
with. People's feedback mean the world to me so it's always nice when a
client says ' oh yes I read your blog and saw that '. Blogging is so
rewarding to me, I think its a brilliant outlet to express yourself and
share thoughts & opinions.
3. What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?
When
I'm not blogging I am either doing clients makeup, my own makeup or
washing brushes! Bane of my life is washing my brushes. Or else I also
brainstorm to think of new blog posts. My life literally revolves around
makeup so if I'm not maintaining any of my social media accounts then I
am more than likely doing make overs.
4. Are you a full time blogger?
No
I wouldn't say I'm a full time blogger. I definitely don't blog as
often as I probably should. I try to figure out what people want me to
blog about so I'll post a status on Facebook as ask the girls for
feedback. I also try to think of things myself but I'm not that
creative. My followers are so easy to please they just want to see the
basics. I think when I'm back in college I'll have a routine and I would
like to post at least 3 times a week so I'm actually really excited to
get back into the college groove. So keep your eyes peeled for more
posts soon!
5. How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?
So
yep as I said I write up Facebook status's and ask my followers what do
they want to see. And I do try to think of ideas myself but I love
knowing exactly what people want. I also follow tones of bloggers and
MUAs and YouTubers so I gain a lot of inspiration from them too.
6. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
The
first blogger I ever found was years ago and it was Kandee Johnson.
She's just so talented and I found her through YouTube so I still look
up to her a lot. Honestly, I follow all the local girls in Waterford and
I absolutely love all of their blogs and it's just our little community
that I look up to. I love seeing everyone do so well for themselves and
I just love how we all support each other. I think you all motivate me
to blog and create better content so I look up to all of the Waterford
girls :)
7. Name the top blogs you read?
As I said it's all the locals so there's not many of us yet haha! But here they are:
that
is pretty much it, I really need to get all the girls URLs and follow
them but these three are what I follow on blogger so yep! I find most of
us bloggers have instagram or Facebook pages with links to our blogs so
I definitely follow more girls that way, so when I know someone has
uploaded a new post I'll click into it through Facebook or something :)
8.What makes you read the above blogs?
The
content. It's mainly makeup that I'm interested in but I can appreciate
a fashion post or lifestyle post. I love knowing what everyone else
thinks about products. I love a good product review and oh god I
absolutely live for Face Of The Day posts because I love knowing what
shade of lipstick someone is wearing and just little things like that.
So everyone above is a beauty blogger and I love the content so that's
why I read them. Also love hearing about sales and discounts haha I'm
awful for a good bargain.
9. Tell us something we don't know about you?
I'm
actually not sure haha! If you follow me on any account, you pretty
much see my life. I'm a fairly open person but I suppose most don't know
I'm a ceoliac which means I just can't have food with gluten in them.
You'll see tones of gluten free foods on the shelves now so that's
always a plus! But I think that's it, as boring as that is haha!
10. Link us to all of your social media platforms.
