Sunday Snippet : Make Me Up Ireland

My sunday snippet is finally back following some technical issues on my part it was delayed. Today I bring you the lovely Grace from Make Me Up. I absolutely love Grace's blog. I'm reading it with ages and love popping in to see what's new. She has the cutest little pug! Below is our interview have a quick look and make sure to check out her links!

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a Sligo girl, living in Cork with my boyfriend of over 5 years and our little 7 month old puppy, Jimmy the Pug. I work full-time for a Biotechnology company in West Cork as a C&Q Engineer. And, on the side, I am a Beauty Blogger and MUA in training.

2.  How did you get into blogging and why?

I have a serious, need-help kind of addiction when it comes to makeup & all things beauty. I have always loved following beauty bloggers on Instagram and learning about the latest beauty buys, makeup techniques, beauty tips & tricks. I would quite frequently post my own little reviews of products on my IG feed & I started to get some positive feedback about my reviews. So, I  figured, because I use so many beauty & makeup products every month, some of which are great, and some of which are not great, I would start writing my honest opinions of these products on a blog as a hobbie.

3. What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?

My job takes up a LOT of my time, but outside of that I like to fit in as much time as I can with my boyfriend who works shift (boo!), hang out with my girlfriends, and of course, Shopping! I qualified as a makeup artist this year and I spend a good bit of my free time practicing bridal makeup, Debs makeup etc.

4. Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?

Blogging for me is a hobbie. Whilst I thoroughly enjoy blogging, Science & Engineering are my 1st loves, and I would never be able to commit to blogging full time. I would however, love to have a magazine column in years to come.

5. How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?

As of late, I have been really poor when it comes to updating my actual blog. One thing I never realized when it came to blogging, was the amount of you time it could consume. But with working full-time and having a very active social life (I find it extremely hard to sit in the house!), I find it really hard to squeeze in the time. It’s something I am definitely going to have to work on! My content ideas just come naturally. I use a product and after a few weeks, I write down what I think of it. I constantly do mini reviews on my Instagram page too because IG is so easy to use; you can upload your thoughts & picture(s) in a matter of minutes, and I love the interaction I get with my followers on it.

6. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
I think my favourite blogger right now would have to be The Beautiful Truth. Sinead works as a teacher full-time & has an amazing blog AND youtube channel. I look up to her because of the way she is able to juggle it all so well. I also love the fact that her blog is so so honest. I also love Laura from My MakeUp Perspective. Laura has 2 fantastic Youtube channels & again, is so honest when it comes to her reviews. Other favs would be Aoibhe Devlin from The Secret Obsession, Jamie Genevieve (her makeup tutorials online are unreal), Niamh Webb O’Rourke from LoveLifeBlogIreland (Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger), Lauren Arthurs from Love Lauren (Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger), Karen from The Lovely Girly Bits (AKA the Snapchat Queen) because she is fricking hilarious, Em Ford from My Pale Skin Blog (that girl is seriously talented! – check out her Youtube channel), Nuala Gorham from Penny and Polaroids, Orla from Makeup Over Mind, Sinead Cady from The Makeup Chair (because she makes her makeup tutorials so easy to follow). There are lots more blogs I love, but these are the ones I am enjoying most right now.

7. Tell us something we don't know about you?

I am a massive darts fan and not too shabby at playing either! I used to be on a ladies team up until last year and I hope to get back into it in 2016.
