Catrice Prime and Fine Refiner

Prepping your skin is essential to ensure the longevity of foundation. Primer makes your foundation adhere better to your skin hence making it last longer. Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner is a primer I always fall back on and it's a firm favourite of mine.

Oil-free silicone-based primer practically makes pores disappear and fills out wrinkles for a smooth, refined complexion. It is a pint colour but goes on transparent when applied to the skin. It doesn't look unnatural and it has a lovely creamy texture which spreads evenly over the skin. You only need to use a small amount as a little goes a long way. My skin is smooth and supple following application, and it doesn't make my skin feel oily or greasy. It doesn't claim to mattify or control oil but as it is oil free it is light weight and ideal for oily skins.

It doesn't remove pores or make lines invisible but it does improve their appearance. It gives the skin a nice even texture in order to apply foundation seamlessly and flawlessly. Overall, this is a good primer if you want your foundation to look natural and blended. It reduces the appearance of pores and makes foundation stay put. But if you expect it to make you pore less, that isn't gonna happen.

You might like it if...
  • You want it to minimize pores.
  • You want skin for foundation to blend flawlessly..
  • You expect it to make your foundation last through the day.
  • You have dry/normal/combination skin type.

You might not like it if...

  • You expect it to make you pore-free.
  • You expect it to vanish fine lines on your face.
  • You expect it to mattify.

For under 5 Euro it is a bargain of a primer, and as a little goes a long way it is super inexpensive and great value. It is available on all Catrice Stands such as Penneys, Sam McCauleys, Waterford Health Park Pharmacy to name just a few.
