Sunday Snippet : Squidgy Moments Blog

Today's Sunday Snippet features the lovely Kathleen from Squidgy Moments Blog. I love to sit down and catch up on all of Kathleen's latest posts ranging from beauty to travel.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Kathleen and I am the owner of the Award Winning Squidgy Moments Blog! I'm 27 years old and I am a full time Digital Marketing Manager. I'm a happy go lucky girl and I'm currently planning my wedding!

2. How did you get into blogging and why?

I got into blogging before blogging was even a thing in Ireland. I was baby sitting one night 5 years ago and said I'd just bite the bullet and start one! So that's what I did! I was finishing up in college and I thought that having a blog would give me a competitive edge over others when doing interviews. Turns out, I loved it enough to keep it going all these years! :)

3. What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?

In my time away from my full time job and my blog, you can find me at the gym, in Penneys or planning my next travel adventure. I was bitten by the travel bug at the age of 3 and travel is still pretty much a massive part of my life and my biggest passion. Luckily it ties in well with my blog too!

4. Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?

I'm not a full time blogger although I am forever 'switched on' as a digital marketer and so my blog does consume a lot of my time and energy. My income from blogging is low and definitely not my main driving force to blog and so being a full time blogger isn't on my radar.

5. How do you keep coming up with content for your blog?

Over the 5 years that I've been a blogger, I've changed the focus of my blog depending on what I am enjoying in life. I suppose this keeps it fresh because its not drilled down as just a beauty blog or a travel blog. I'm forever talking / writing about a whole range of topics that interest me and so that keeps ideas fresh. I send myself emails all the time when I randomly think of a good blog post idea haha!

6. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?

This is tough because there are sooooo many!!! I suppose if I had to narrow it down, I'd pick Nadia from http://thedailyself.me - she's an amazing travel blogger and she does beauty as well. Her photo's and vlogs really bring you to a destination and I love that. I also love Sinead from http://thebeautifultruth.ie because she really tells it as it is and her reviews are fantastic. I also really enjoy her Facebook content and so she always keeps me interested in whats coming next. Her wedding features are brilliant too!

7. Name the top blogs you read?

I think I covered this above but I mainly read travel and lifestyle blogs because I'm a total wanderlust girl! Always dreaming of the world and I love hearing about stories and adventures from other peoples lives.

8.What makes you read the above blogs?

Again, I think I kind of covered this but travel blog wise, strong images and videos will always keep me coming back. I love to be inspired and I love seeing the world through someone else's eyes. In beauty blogs, I look for creative imagery and I love personable content. A review with a twist.

9. Tell us something we don't know about you?

Ooooh this is tough! Ok, I'll take it back 10 years to when I finished school (I'm so old!)! I was a total tomboy until the age of maybe 16!? I had O'Neill's tracksuits in every colour and I'd pair them with soccer jerseys every single day!! Haha crazy! I'm a total girl now!
