La Roche-Posay introduces Cicaplast Baume B5 SPF50
A few weeks ago I had the ideal opportunity to try out the Cicaplast Baume Healing Care. I had my eyebrows tattooed and I was travelling to Dublin on the day La Roche sent me out the Cicaplast Baume. After the procedure I had to use a vit E cream for the remaining hours. Once the brows were 2 days old I began to use the Cicaplast Baume. Previously I had just used Vaseline to help repair my brows but I had lost alot of pigmentation. This time however my brows healed perfectly, I had no real loss of pigmentation and no flaking or drying out of the brows. I applied the Cicaplast three times a day using a cotton bud to ensure not to infect the healing brows. Below are my brows now 6 weeks fully healed and to this day I still apply the Cicaplast Baume once a week just to ensure that they are well cared for. Cicaplast is not just for Tattoos. Repairing Efficacy and protection against pigmented marks caused by harmful UV rays. GROUNDBREAKING INNOVATIVE NEW FORMULA
CICAPLAST BAUME B5 SPF50 is formulated with a brand new ceramide called procerad, which works deep within damaged skin to prevent red or brown marks developing, in two key ways:
1.) ANTI-INFLAMMATORY: Inflammation can trigger red and brown pigmentation to develop on the skin as it heals, leaving marks that can sometimes be irreversible. Procerad helps the skin fight against the causes of pigmentation providing calming relief for damaged skin and protecting it before irritation causes further damage to the skin.
2.) ANTI-PIGMENTATION: Procerad acts on melanogenesis, the phase in which red or brown marks can form, by inhibiting excess melanin developing in the skin.
TATTOOS
Tattooed skin is damaged skin and requires long-term care to avoid complications. Tattooing involves introducing permanent pigments into skin via a series of perforations performed using needles. The needle pierces the epidermis and introduces pigments into the dermis. Depending on the tattoo’s location and skin’s thickness in the given area, the needle penetrates skin between 0.5 and 1.5mm. The skin heals and the pigments at the surface are eliminated. All of the pigments “anchored” in the dermis remain in place. Imprinted within the skin forever, they create a permanent design.
CICAPLAST BAUME B5 SPF50 is a repairing, soothing and protective balm which provides healing care, making it a must-have product in catering for all tattooed skins needs. With 30% of the world’s population tattooed*, La Roche-Posay recognised the need to produce a product specifically designed to cater for the needs of those with body art. This is why my brows healed so so well after my top up procedure as can be seen below.
Old Tattoos – For tattoos, whether new or old, when exposed to daily UV rays, there is a risk of colour and definition degradation. CICAPLAST BAUME B5 SPF50 maintains suppleness and improves skin elasticity with Madecassosside and Manganese and hydrates the skin with Shea Butter.
Recent Tattoos – A few days after getting the tattoo, after the risk of infection has passed, some crusting will appear which may also itch and tingle. Skin may experience some redness and swelling. CICAPLAST BAUME B5 SPF50 can be used at this time during the healing process and in the following weeks in order to provide the optimal conditions for skin repair with Madecassosside and Manganese, soothe the skin with Panthenol and reduce the risk of infection with anti-bacterial agents Copper and Zinc.
