Ok people, I have a new favourite affordable foundation, I’ve been wearing this foundation non-stop for the past three weeks. Not because I've had to, but because I can’t put it down. So, I’ve had ample time to gather my thoughts whilst figuring out its application, wear, mixing it with things, testing it with different primers, etc; and now I feel I can share them with you all! This exceptional, perfume free foundation with a powder effect is dedicated to oily and mixed skin. It covers well, making skin feel like velvet without the necessity of additional coat of powder. It provides an ideal mattifying balance between the dry and shiny parts of skin, at the same time moisturizing the rest of complexion.
Active Ingredients:
1. Vitamin E - being an effective antioxidant, it prolongs young skin appearance
2. Hyaluronic acid– provides the optimum level of skin moisturizing, which is very important for oily and mixed skin - usually highly dried because of wrong care
3. Mattifying micro-sponges – gently absorb the excess of sebum
4. Titanium oxide – a natural mineral which provides an effective protection against UVA and UVB radiation
The Expert Matte Foundation has impressed me since the very first application. It provides a perfect medium to full coverage with a matte finish. I usually favour a satin finish for my base, but this looks beautiful on the skin. So for those who are a bit intimidated by the word matte, all of you dry non oily ladies over there don’t worry – I am sure you can work with this product all the same! It feels very lightweight and comfortable on the skin, which I love. I can’t think of anything worse than feeling makeup on your face. This feels like the face is naked but in fact is perfectly covered.
I usually apply my makeup at 7-7:30am, and don’t remove it until 8pm, sometimes later. In the time I’ve used it so far, one thing remains unchanged – whether I wear it for 8 hours or 12+ hours, this baby holds up extremely well! Come the end of the day, it looks like it did when it was first applied. No settling into pores or accentuating the lots of line on my face lol. I have a lot of trouble keeping any foundation on my chin and nose, and I can safely say this is one of the few that is still holding on strong at the end of the day as long as I keep my dreaded hands away from my face lol! I do find that some day's depending on the primer I may need to powder around my t zone once in the day. But that I can definitely live with.
I normally apply this with my large flat head Kabuki brush from Nima brush. I have also used the Flawless 08 Foundation Brush and the Primark/Penneys Kabuki Brush. Each brush applied it flawlessly. I have applied the foundation over silicone primers, nivea after shave balm, Artdeco Make Up Base again each of which work with the foundation. I have also mixed it with some facial oil on days where I find my skin needs some moisture, and I have mixed in the Flormar Double Radiance Primer and Cocoa Brown Rose Gold Oil for some glow.
As you can see in all the pictures above the foundation looks amazing on the skin and I really won't go passed it. I love it so so much. It retails at €16.99 and is available from all Paese Stockists. It is available in 5 shades, 500 being the lightest and 504 being the darkest. I am mix between 501 and 502 lol. 501 is perfect but i like it to be a tiny bit darker so I mix in a tiny amount of 502. For days with tan 502 is perfect. In Waterford the local stockists are Delaneys Pharmacy and Castle Pharmacy. This Paese beauty has changed my foundation game!
