Sleek Highlighter Series : Precious Metals

Highlighting and Contouring is one of those beauty trends which is everywhere you look, from press releases to Instagram, there are pictures, tutorials and products related to this technique and in all honesty… I love it! The ability to sculpt and transform your face is amazing. I love the glow you get from a good highlight and the sculpted look from contour.

Recently I attended the Sleek Blogger Brunch where we learned about the latest Highlighting Palette Cleopatra's Kiss. The new palette looks amazing, but in my goody bag there was one of each of the highlighting palettes. Precious Metals has always been a favourite of mine. I am hitting pan on my original one at the moment.

It’s made up of 3 creamy highlighting formulas and one shimmery bronzing powder. Inside the compact you also get a decent sized mirror. On the back, there’s a little breakdown of the colours, what they do and where to apply them, making it super easy for beginners. The product itself is amazing. The highlighters are packed with high intensity shimmers and all have a warm glowy base. They are easily blendable with fingers but I personally preferred using a damp sponge. So what's in the palette you ask.

Platinum is a cool-toned almost white cream to powder highlighter with tons of finely milled pink and blue glitter that translates in a beautiful shimmery finish on the skin.

Royal Gold is a warm-toned light champagne gold cream to powder highlighter with extremely finely milled gold shimmer and specks of silver glitter. The finish on the skin is more glittery than shimmery. Very festive!

Renaissance Gold is a warm-toned light champagne gold cream to powder highlighter with tons of finely milled gold shimmer and a strong metallic finish. Looks a lot like The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter when swatched.

Antique Bronze is a medium dark warm-toned bronze powder highlighting bronzer with tons of finally milled gold glitter and a very shimmery finish. Compared to cream to powder finish of the other three highlighters, Antique Bronze is a little bit sheer but still applies evenly.

All cream highlighters last on my skin for at very least 8 hours and the bronzer stays put for 6 to 7 hours. I loved this palette so much. If you love highlighters and look for a variety of shades and finishes – this is a very good choice. These four highlighters are not similar all are different and unique. Taking into account that the staying powder is amazing and the price is affordable – this palette is absolutely amazing.

Overall, this product is extremely versatile and is a great staple product to have in your collection. Be sure to apply in the daylight and you’ll be able to see just how much is enough! It’s retailing at €12.99, available locally in Boots, Waterford Health Park Pharmacy, Mulligans Pharmacy, Boots Online and Simply Foxy. The next highlighting palette I will review will the Solstice.
