My partner agreed to test out two of the masks. He chose the face putty and the post shave cooling mask. The first one which we are reviewing today is the Face Putty mask. Walking down the aisles of your local pharmacy or chemist, you'll see that charcoal is the trendiest ingredient in skincare right now. There are black masks, cleansers, body bars, and scrubs with activated charcoal as the star. Beauty companies praise it as a game changer for skin. Activated charcoal is carbon soot that’s been treated to give it a sponge-like structure, with lots of holes. This skin rejuvenating formula loosens blackheads and cleanses deep into the pores to remove impurities while clarifying and purifying the skin and rebalancing oily areas.
So how did he get on with the mask. The instructions are as follows: After cleansing with the BARBER PRO FOAMING CLEANSING MASK, apply to dry skin using clean finger tips or a mask brush, avoiding the hairline, eye and lip area. Remove after 20 minutes or when fully dry and elastic. Gently peel away mask in an upward motion. Rinse with warm water and follow with the BARBER PRO GENTLEMEN’S SHEET MASK and UNDER EYE MASK for an additional treat to the skin! As we did not have the foaming cleansing mask, he cleansed the skin with a cleanser and then applied the mask. The packet contains three applications of face putty. Paul noted that the face putty was more fluid than previous Activated Charcoal Masks he had used. It also took longer to dry into the skin and become elastic. These however are only small issues in the grand scheme of things. The mask did as promised. It promises to Detoxify, target blackheads and acne, rebalances oily zones and clears impurities, Exfoliates dead skin cells, increases hydration, repairs skin damage and brightens complexion. As can be seen in the before and after pictures below you can see the difference in the skin. It is much clearer, brighter and also feels softer.
You literally peel the mask away to reveal fresh, clear skin! Paul noted that the mask is excellent value, but would need to be paired with the foaming cleanser.
